Whenever we try something new, we are bound to make some mistakes along the way. That’s how we learn and grow. And my journey toward a clutter free life has seen it's share of minimalist mistakes and frugal failures.
In fact, I am a pretty frugal person. It’s just in my nature and the idea of buying less (and thus spending less) is probably what drew me to minimalism in the first place. However, what has kept me on this journey is a simpler, more intentional life that is just easier to manage. When you have less stuff, there is less to worry about, less to clean, and less to get in your way.
Unless, you take it too far. When that happens, the practice of having less can actually make life more difficult. This is what a minimalist fail is.
And when you waste money - when your intention was to save money...that is a frugal fail.
My hope is that by sharing some of my most memorable minimalist mistakes and frugal failures, I can help spare you from these same troubles.
